AHBA Sanctioned
Trials*
The Great
Minnesota
Herding Challenge Series will offer AHBA trials throughout the year. Participants will compete on varying courses
with a variety of stock. The goal is to
accumulate points to win a cash prize at the end of the series. Participants need not enter every trial to be
eligible.
The more you
compete, the
better your odds are of winning! Each
trial will have its own theme. Different types of stock as well as different
courses will be offered throughout the series.
Some trials will have limited entry, so remember to get entries
in
early.
For each trial
you enter,
you will accumulate points toward your total Herding Challenge tally. Points will be awarded to dog and handler
teams. Handlers running multiple dogs
may not combine points. You must
complete your run to obtain an eligible score.
If you retire or are excused, your score from that run may not
be used. Non-competitive runs will be
eligible to be
counted. You may enter multiple classes
at a trial, but only your highest score at each trial will count toward
your
tally. The more trials you enter, the
higher your tally!
At the final
trial in
October, scores from the year will be tallied to determine the Herding
Challenge
winners. The dog & handler teams
with the largest tallies will win a payback.
The amount of money in the pot will be directly dependent on the
number
of entries from the trial series. The
pot will be paid out as follows:
